Reflection on the concept of FPV Video...
When we began conceptualizing the FPVVIDEO project, our initial goal was to truly understand the meaning of FPV video. Most people associate this term only with FPV drones, which is indeed a common usage, yet we realized that FPV, or First Person View, refers to video captured from a first-person perspective. This concept fundamentally changes the approach to filming and content creation because FPV video is not limited to drones – it is about providing a perspective where the viewer feels as if they are sitting directly on or inside the object, experiencing movement and surroundings firsthand, which delivers an immersive visual experience and new creative possibilities.
A clear example is a model train. If a small camera is placed on a freight car of a model train and allowed to travel through a detailed miniature landscape with stations and scenery, it produces an authentic FPV shot. The viewer experiences the journey as if they were actually in the train, seeing everything from the "pilot's" perspective. FPV video works similarly on motorcycles, car dashboards, or other models – the camera captures movement and perspective as if seen by the person controlling the object. This captures the essence of FPV video – it is not confined to drones, although drones are the most well-known aspect of this type of filming.
We decided to combine FPV drones with action cameras and 360° cameras and gradually develop the FPVVIDEO project. FPV video from drones has a distinctive character – the camera is firmly mounted on the drone and tilts with it during turns and maneuvers, giving the viewer an authentic first-person perspective. The distinction between an FPV drone and a cinematic drone lies primarily in FPV versus cinematic footage and in the immersive perspective that the viewer experiences.
Our FPVVIDEO project integrates all these elements – aerial production, dynamic FPV shots, and a first-person perspective, whether using drones, action cameras, or 360° devices. The project allows us to experiment, develop creativity, and produce videos that genuinely immerse the viewer. FPV video is not only about technology, but about the experience, perspective, and additional dimension it brings to every project – whether urban, industrial, natural locations, commercial, documentary, or inspection shoots.
The purpose of our blog is to show that FPV video is a universal concept encompassing much more than just FPV drones. Every shot capturing a first-person view – whether on a model, car, motorcycle, or during flight – belongs to this category. This approach pushes the boundaries of drone photography, video production, and creative content creation, opening new possibilities for professional and artistic projects, whether in Prague, the Central Bohemian Region, across the Czech Republic, or in Slovakia. Follow our blog and explore the world of FPV video from multiple perspectives with us.
Our experience in drone piloting, combining different technologies, and using a variety of cameras allows us to create original FPV videos that are authentic, dynamic, and visually engaging. The FPVVIDEO project is our way of combining a passion for flying, technical skill, and creativity into a unique video format that draws the viewer directly into the action, providing a fully immersive first-person experience and conveying the unique perspective of every shot.
We use the name FPVVIDEO to designate and present our original, carefully prepared project focused on creating aerial and ground-based videos, professional photography, and comprehensive audiovisual production. The term FPV video (First Person View video) is an internationally recognized technical term referring to video captured from a first-person perspective, allowing an immersive visual experience, and is not a registered trademark. The FPVVIDEO project was started as a family initiative in the Czech Republic and is actively and purposefully developed, with continuous improvement and expansion across all production areas. We work intensively on the project to ensure that every video, shot, and creative output meets high standards of technical quality, visual accuracy, and artistic execution. The project is fully hosted on our own domains and social profiles, where we carefully manage branding, identity, and original content creation. All content, including visual design, graphics, logos, photographs, videos, and textual materials, is protected by copyright and reflects the unique, professional work of our team. This website FPVVIDEO.cz is the official and only website of our FPVVIDEO project; it is currently not operated on any other sites, even if other internet addresses link here. The FPVVIDEO project continues to grow according to a structured development plan, deliberately expanding our capabilities and reach while maintaining the enthusiasm, creativity, and passion that drive the team forward. Every element of the project is prepared with emphasis on professional drone piloting, high-quality photography, post-production, and visual storytelling. Our goal is to inspire and engage the audience, showcase the technical and artistic potential of FPV filming, and deliver content that stands out on online platforms, social networks, and simultaneously respects copyright and original authorship.
